The Big Summer Wind Orchestra and Choir is co-ordinated by the same team who deliver the Big Christmas Wind Orchestra and Choir. Since 2012, we have been running a huge ensemble with hundreds of participants every year, and now we want to grow throughout the rest of the year too.

We are very pleased to collaborate with Making Music to arrange a really special event for Make Music Day. This international celebration of music making sees hundreds of concerts in places all around the world, from enormous concert halls to libraries, and everywhere in between. Our enormous one-off annual events are the perfect way to showcase the joys of music making and hopefully encourage more people into music making all year round.

We usually perform a range of well known music for up to two hours at a high profile public location.  This will include some very well known folk songs, alongside classical favourites and even some big pop numbers - with all music selected so that everyone can join in.

Any musician is welcome, regardless of ability, and no rehearsal or preparation (other than an instrument or voice) is required. Performers who don't usually make music in a band or choir are especially welcome.  We provide all of the sheet music in either paper or digital format, so that it is accessible to everyone - we'll also help if you'll need any adaptations e.g. large print.
